		<title>Art Democracy´s Best Rock Bands Ever / Now featuring: STEELY DAN &#8220;The perfect musical antiheroes for the Seventies&#8221; (Rolling Stone) Click the link and enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2JSa8Er58s

Steely Dan was the American rock band lead by Donald Fagen and Walter Becker. The band&#8217;s popularity peaked in the late 1970s, with the release of seven albums blending elements of jazz, rock, funk, R&amp;B, and pop. Rolling Stone magazine has called them &#8220;the perfect musical antiheroes for the Seventies.&#8221;

The band&#8217;s music is characterized by complex jazz-influenced structures and harmonies played by Becker and Fagen along with a revolving cast of rock and pop studio musicians. Steely Dan&#8217;s &#8220;cerebral, wry and eccentric&#8221; lyrics, often filled with sharp sarcasm, touch upon such themes as drugs, love affairs, crime, and their true-to-life &#8220;contempt of west coast hippies.&#8221; The pair are well-known for their near-obsessive perfectionism in the recording studio, with one notable example being that Becker and Fagen used at least 42 different studio musicians, 11 engineers, and took over a year to record the tracks that resulted in 1980&#8242;s Gaucho — an album that contains only seven songs.

Steely Dan toured from 1972 to 1974, but in 1975 became a purely studio-based act. The late 1970s saw the group release a series of moderately successful singles and albums. They disbanded in 1981, and throughout most of the next decade, Fagen and Becker remained largely inactive in the music world. During this time, the group steadily built and maintained &#8220;a cult following

&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.

		<title>COLLAGE NEVER DIES / Grupo Camisa (30quarenta) Buenos Aires &#8211; Coming soon in ART DEMOCRACY / Ph: &#8220;Mudanza&#8221; (Move) 2012.

Parisian prints (dating from around 1920) featuring the most beautiful buildings and monuments of the time, are the background for the latest work of 30quarenta. “Les Vieux hotels de París”, these unique, detailed prints were found by owner; Miguel Bornstein, who decided to intervene them, and in a way; bring them back to life. These prints are the base for 30quarenta’s latest collages.

Miguel worked alongside his daughter; Isabel Bornstein and Caterina Spannagel. Using their three names (first letters) they formed the named “Grupo Camisa”.

They started off by using Victorian figurines and other childlike stickers to shape their pieces. They later moved on to pin up figures, these interact with the French buildings and older elements taken from Argentine ads and Early 1920’s Tango Scores to give a local feel.

The next chapter is primarily based on images of furniture, decorative objects and art installations.
Lately there are no prohibitions, they paint the backgrounds razor cut them, and use all types of images and photographs. Miguel Bornstein spilled his previous knowledge in the fields of antique furniture and decorative art to create a surreal atmosphere were all the pieces interact. He believes, and through these confirms; that all beautiful things work well together, no matter the circumstance, they are timeless.

		<title>POP BRAZIL / WANDA PIMENTEL / Untitled, circa 1970

&#8220;Wanda Pimentel’s painting has been, since the  beginning, in the 60’s, a metaphor of imprisonment. Everything in her work – themes, images, coloring, space connection, graphic structure – is used in order to increase a feeling of oppression and confinement. Through this comprising metaphor, the artist expresses a prevailing feeling in her work – the loneliness of human being&#8221;
